In a recent Forbes article, Anago Cleaning Systems CEO & President Adam Povlitz, discussed how generational wealth building was achievable and becoming more frequent through franchising. Adam points out that understanding the benefits of franchising is among the first steps to building a pathway of wealth that can be passed on to the next generation.
Here at Anago, we have several examples of one generation building a business network to pass on to the next. This predominantly occurs under our Master Franchise model, where one person (or family) purchases the rights and royalty structures to a dedicated territory. This model is ideal for those looking to build a franchise business empire that can generate residual income, unlimited growth, and be passed down to future generations.
The Anago Master Franchise model offers seven primary revenue streams and is the perfect breeding ground for the owners of today to foster future business skills for generations to come.
A shining example is the family-owned and operated Anago of the Triangle, serving Raleigh and the Triangle Region of NC, featuring husband and father, Don, wife Cindy, son Sammy, and son Joseph, who just graduated college and joined the family for the summer working on marketing campaigns.
Cindy and Don bought the franchise in 2011 and started building the territory. At the time, Sammy was traversing middle and high school, watching his parents work hard, growing Anago into a viable, sustainable business.
During his semester breaks in college at the University of North Carolina, Sammy would return home and dabble in the family business. He helped secure new business, write and close contracts, and review Anago’s business processes. This allowed him to test the waters of the Anago family business and decide his future role, if any, that he wanted to take.
Thankfully, Sammy was interested.
During one semester, Sammy took a few business classes specifically designed to help the next generation take over family businesses smoothly and successfully. This opened Sammy’s eyes to the new potential opportunities he could take to his family’s Anago Master Franchise back home.
His strategy was to continue the “we do better together” mantra the family instilled when they launched Anago. Since graduating college, Sammy has integrated further into the Anago Master Franchise business, slowly taking on more responsibilities over time.
Today, the family is still involved with various processes, from marketing campaigns, back-office support, new franchisee onboarding, and securing new clients. Sammy admits that his father is stepping away more and pursuing other interests, leaving him to take on the lead role in the family business.
In addition to being the business’ top franchise sales and contract lead, Sammy is the liaison between clients and franchisees to ensure that Anago’s core values are maintained, and that customer service and operations are running optimally.
And he is killing it!
Since Sammy joined the family business full-time, Anago of the Triangle earned the following franchise system accolades:
In 2023, Anago of the Triangle was named the 1st Place Winner of the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolinas Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics in the small business category. The award recognizes a high level of ethics and character and ensures that business practices are conducted with the highest standards.
Building generational wealth is within your reach with franchising.
